If I’m not mistaken you should probably cut out the pith as that’s what will cause it to crack during the drying process.

Cut it up like [this](http://i.imgur.com/s47H2SK.jpg) and discard the center.

If thats freshly cut you may see it warp over the next couple of days. I know from experience!

It will split with the pith in there as it dries because the pith won’t shrink much if at all and the wood all around it will shrink as it dries.

Did you do this on a table saw?

Even though it contains the pith, it’s still cool that you did this. You learned stuff, cut it true & square (apparently), and you made something instead of just reading about it online.
And probably best of all, you learned that wood movement needs to be considered by making this and not after making something fancy and having it unilaterally declare itself firewood.
    Keep at it.

Slap an “All Natural Product” sticker on it, take it to a Hipster store, and I’ll bet you can get about $300 out of it. Anyways, welcome to the club. It only get more addicting from here….

Cut open a kickball and stick it on top. Boom. Giant match stick. Seriously though that’s pretty impressive for that ryobi saw. Mine is shit

If you cut that into slices you could start a nice little coaster business.
