If you told me 10 years ago I’d be tearing up reading a Lucas farewell letter I’d have told you to get some professional help.

But alas, here I am 😢

    >The same goes for the video I was sent on Friday which showed the fans, many of them young, singing my name during the game at Wigan Athletic. To be the recipient of that support and that passion makes me so proud.

    I love this!

He wasn’t a top tier player and even after his injury he still been a great servant: never gave up, always tried to do his best on the pitch and had some “leader” charisma. I will miss this guy, because seems like in modern football it is hard to see such a hard-working loyal player, that doesn’t play for money, CL or another benefits. Player, that doesn’t give up and moans for transfer when manager benched him. He played for the badge, for the city, for the fans. Sometimes we thought : “omg jesus why Lucas is bad” and sometimes he amazed us with reading of the game, interceptions, some scrappy passing (still can’t pass more than 5 yard tho 🙁 ) and his UNLUCKEE top-tier meme.

    We will miss you. YNWA.

Teared up abit reading that. A glowing example of everything a young footballer should strive to be. A model professional, humble, respect for everyone around them and a willingness to constantly improve and compete at the highest level.

I hope to god he’s back after he retires in ambassadorial capacity or has a role within the club if he wants. For me he is up with Garcia, Kuyt, Hyypia, Agger and Riise as the foreign players who played for us like the club was everything to them and because we have these players as the examples of how we treat our non-british players we’ll always be a desirable location for any young player who’s cautious about making a move to a new country.

Great for him that he got to see the admiration first hand before he left. I know we all adore him on reddit but alot of the pub talk ive heard from Liverpool fans who don’t watch as much behind the scenes as we all do, isn’t so gracious.

Will miss Lucas, best of luck to him at Lazio! I might even get a shirt

Fantastic letter from somebody who embodied everything good about Liverpool FC in my opinion.

Welcome back any time, and I hope that there’s a role for him at the club in the future. The sort of dedication and professionalism that he showed is an example to anyone.

    YNWA.

Man. Lucas was one of my favorite Liverpool players. Before the constant leg injuries, he was borderline worldclass as a DM. Loved watching him play :(. Unlucky.

    No, you’re crying.

I might not has been his greatest fans at times. (88 minutes)

But my Fowler, he played the best he could, never stopped running, loved the club, fans, city and showed what it meant to represent us.

He has stayed here longer than other “Legends” and deserves his testimonial.

    YNWA Lucas.

Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing were better and more influential players in their 2/3 years at the club than Lucas was in 10

  62. ScottScott26

    July 18, 2017 at 7:19 pm

Anyone genuinely upset over this is a nonce. He was decent for a bit, terrible for years. One League Cup in that time (which he didn’t play in) and several 8th-5th finishes. Was a good lad, loved the club but that doesn’t buy you much nowadays
