    My shit DD:

The next generation of riders definitely prefers sport, naked, and even dual sport bikes over cruisers. There are plenty that love cruisers but HD is well out of their price range. They didn’t do themselves any favors by targeting the oldest demographic possible.

So they bought (or planning to buy?) Ducati which rounds out their product offering quite nicely from a rider’s perspective. Problem is… Ducati is also brutally expensive and has a reputation for unreliability (deserved or not). I know one guy with a Ducati.

Honestly both brands make beautiful bikes but when it comes time to actually giving them money, rice rockets are a better deal all around.

I’m in the core audience that they want to buy their bikes.

I can’t think of a single reason why I need to look like a faux-degenerate noisy jackass on the weekends, driving around without a helmet, hoping that nobody drives over my ass because they’re texting on their mobile phone.

I’ve seen enough crushed bikes and half-dead “badasses” laying on the ground in Phoenix to last a lifetime.

Harley riders never do the biker’s wave, they can all ride straight off a bridge.

Harley Davidson had a FANTASTIC brand. Their name was synonomous with that mythical ideal of American Machines built by American Men, a rebellious stand against foreign motorcycle brands infiltrating the market. Even at a very young age, I and every other boy knew “harleys are badass.” A timeless logo, a fervently patriotic fanbase, that’s a brand that could’ve endured until the end of time.

But they got stupid and greedy. Devalued the brand down to some garbage name used to sell beer coozies and other shit merch at WalMart. I knew they were long dead after I saw a Harley Davidson gift shop at an airport, and half the shit was t-shirts with Taz or Bugs Bunny wearing a Harley Jacket.

You want a strong brand? Stick to your core products, don’t over license like a moron, and especially don’t associate your “tough guy” brand with fucking children’s cartoon characters.

Bikes have been shit since the 1980s. HD has been coasting on accessories and marketing ever since. Not to mention how obnoxious they are. I’ve never once been in crowd where a HD goes by and people say, “Ooo, look how cool.” I have, however, been in many crowds where a HD goes buy and people say, “What an asshole.” If you need something to make your dick look big, buy an Indian.

Why would I want a motorcycle that is worth more than my 2012 Honda Civic when I could just drive around like a speed demon on my 2015 Honda CBR500R. It only cost me $3,200. Straight pipe still sounds better than an ugly, noisy ass Harley

Read an article that Harley was down because Millennials don’t like motorcycles. No, we don’t like Harleys, they are poorly built, ride shitty, way over priced, and look lame.

I’d buy a BMW or Ducati or KTM, never a HOG.

Is GenX even interested? That’s who’s hitting male menopause now. I know the baby boomers love the Harleys, but I don’t think even GenX is interested in them.

I bet riding a bike is fun as hell, but I’m not ashamed that I don’t have the balls to ride one. I feel unsafe enough driving a car beside complete idiots texting or speeding through traffic…

I just can’t imagine that there is enough of a new market to keep buying bikes. Maybe HD should use their cash on something new, I have no clue what… maybe they could make a truck. haha.

I can confirm, My father rode, collected and built Harley’s his whole life.

I will never own a Harley or a bike where the company is Owned by Harley because I cannot stand the idea of being associated with all those Harley idiots.

I ride a bike from Germany and probably know more about motorcycles than 80% of every Harley rider out there.

If any analyst had ever been to Sturgis rally (I’ve worked there a couple times) they would short HD. The number of below 50 yr riders I can probably count on one hand. And the amount of overwhelming cringe is unbearable, their own customers are enduring that there are no future customers by being complete morons and try hards. Nothing about being an uncultured swine appeals to anyone but washed up old men.

My main issue is paying 2x-3x for a bike that is .25-.5x as good as other brands. I don’t care who all rides them I’m just not an idiot is all.
